If you’re into cycling, Mallorca 312 is exactly what you are looking for.
It is a unique sports event… read on to learn more! Mallorca 312 is a 312 km bike route organised in Mallorca and it allows you to discover all the hidden corners and gems the island has to offer. It first began in 2010, allows for a maximum number of 8,000 participants per year and enables you to choose between a 312, 225, and 167 km cycle. It’s considered to be truly magical thanks to the landscapes and roads surrounding the route, from mountains to coastlines. It’s almost as if Mallorca were purposely designed for cycling tours!
The route of the cycling competition starts and ends on the breath-taking beach of Playa de Muro. The first leg of the race offers the most beautiful natural landscapes and it is predominantly mountainous. First, you cross the Serra de Tramuntana from East to West to reach the municipality of Esporlas. From Esporlas, it’s flat but no less intense; you cross the centre of the island passing through villages such as Alaró, Lloseta and Campanet before arriving in Playa de Muro once again.
In total, you’ll be doing 14 hours-worth of cycling in a truly mesmerising landscape! Here’s an interesting fact for you: the fraction of Artá is not far from the finish line and it has strong ties to this race. This is where you’ll find the most spectacular display during the race: a fantastic reception with a semi-arch, tons of people cheering you on and music. It’s the perfect thing to keep you going till the finish line and it’s what will make you forget all the effort you’ve put in.
The 9th edition of this cycling-tourist race is taking place on 28th April and in the days before the event, the 3rd edition of the Expo Mallorca 312 will be held.
