Santa Ponsa

Things to do in Santa Ponsa

Santa Ponsa is known as a quiet destination with plenty of sun and sea perfect for a family holiday. Located on the west of the island of Majorca, just a quarter of an hour by car from Palma and only 25 minutes from the airport of Son Sant Joan, Santa Ponsa has become a residential area popular with international tourists and residents, which has led to the development of a cosmopolitan and welcoming atmosphere.

In Santa Ponsa, adults and children can spend the day relaxing and playing on the two fine golden beaches: the large beach, half a kilometre in length, and the Caló d'en Pallisser which is affectionately called the small beach.

Santa Ponsa has plenty other attractions to offer as well. Golfers have three magnificent golf courses (Santa Ponsa I, II, and III) to choose from. You can also view the many luxury properties built in the area and stroll through Port Adriano, a port specialising in large yachts.

In early September Santa Ponsa hosts the Rei en Jaume festival, commemorating the landing of King James I on the island in 1229 and the beginning of the reconquest of Majorca. The festive programme includes the simulation of a battle between Moors and Christians on the beach, a medieval market, parades and street music.
