An art collection inspired by Mallorca
At Zafiro Hotels we like to take care of the details, and we would like for all of them to have a story to tell. Therefore, when we planned the new Zafiro Palace Andratx we carefully chose every single piece of furniture, each area, each texture, each colour. This hotel opens its doors this month at the Camp de Mar coast, and the cherry on top is the contemporary art collection that embellishes all its exclusive suites, and that we would like you to get to know before anyone else.

Art inspired by Mallorca
Created by ABA ART LAB, this artistic contribution that can be enjoyed in the suites of our new luxury hotel in Andratx speaks of Mallorca: its history, its traditions, its soul and its unique beauty. They are hung on the walls in all the suites and as such they become an extension of the nature that surrounds the hotel and fills every corner of the room with that special Mediterranean light.
The magic of each piece lies precisely in its ability to concentrate the very essence of Mallorca and to bring the spirit of the island into every suite that features them.
As explained by the artists themselves, the creative process of this collection "… was born from inspiration provided by the elements of the surrounding landscape itself. The colours, the aromas, the textures of the forest and the sea. The grey of the cliffs, the transparency of the crystalline water, the dense green of the pine forest, the intense brown of the earth, the reddish coral of the sunsets, the misted yellow of the fields under the sun".
Contemporary decorative art
The concept of decorative art presents us with this perfect fusion between art and interior design. More specifically, ABA ART LAB has taken this to its peak by creating unique works till fill the suite walls with life here in our new luxury hotel in Camp de Mar.
They have done this by drawing organic shapes on two materials: paper painted with watercolours, and natural canvases made from palm plants, the material traditionally used when weaving Mallorcan-style baskets.
"Authenticity, simplicity, purity and elegance bind together soft curves, clear lines and organic textures over a luminous white", say Maribel and Alejandra Bordoy Bennàsar, the two creative souls behind ABA ART.
Visual poetry on walls
When defining this artistic project, Maribel and Alejandra knew from the start that the intimate space of the suites at the Zafiro Palace Andratx were the ideal place to bring shape to their visual poems, playing with combinations of nuances and materials in this interior design project.
How the pieces are placed also creates a language of its own. ABA ART LAB explain how for example "in the living room of the suite, above the sofa, there is a palm canvas in the shape of a Mediterranean mandala, broken down into parts and intertwined in a frame filled with various shapes".
Then, on both sides of the bed, you have graphic works with colours and shapes that vary depending on the type of suite. The range of colours includes coral, green and yellow, playing with white and grey as permanent colours.
All this creates an environment filled with freshness, calm and light, giving the suites at Zafiro Palace Andratx a unique personality.
