Zafiro Hotels raises funds to Sonrisa Médica
Zafiro Hotels continues to cooperate with Sonrisa Médica, which, after 24 years filling the hospitals of Mallorca with happiness, has now reached Menorca and Ibiza this year. Want to know more about their commendable work?
This year Zafiro Hotels has once again been working with Sonrisa Médica, a non-profit organisation that brings happiness to Balearic Islands’ hospitals, raising a total of €5,452.58 to help finance several months of service for the first time in hospitals in Menorca and Ibiza.

What do Sonrisa Médica do?
Sonrisa Médica is a non-profit organisation that does everything it can to make kids in hospital smile. Their fantastic hospital clowns make sure that the little ones have a great time with shows, dances and songs.
Helping them forget about their illness for a while and just be normal kids again, laughing and playing with the clowns.
New horizons: Menorca and Ibiza
For 24 years Sonrisa Médica has been bringing happiness to Mallorcan hospitals. The big news this year is that they will also be bringing their fun and games to the islands of Ibiza and Menorca. "This is a big thing for us and something we haven’t been able to do before because we didn’t have enough funds" said the Director of Sonrisa Médica, Marta Barrio.
"It was a service that people had already been asking us to do, so it has been really well received. We really hope we’ll be able to keep the work going and that’s what makes public and private donations so important to us", explained Marta.
She also told us about another new activity in which schoolkids also get to visit the hospitals when the clowns are there, allowing the kids to see the hospital in a different way from an early age and hopefully lessening any fear some of them might have of hospitals.
At Zafiro Hotels we are really happy that we have been able to do our bit to make this beautiful project possible.
We would like to thank all our team members for their enthusiasm in getting involved, and also all our guests that have made donations during the different activities we have set up: solidarity bingo, solidarity cookie and sweet sale, sale of photos with Yzzy ... without them, none of this would have been possible.
