Zafiro Hotels receives the CaixaBank Hotels & Tourism Award
The bank names the owners and CEO of Zafiro Hotels, the sisters María and Antonia Plomer, the winners in the “Entrepreneurs with stars” category for their career in the hotel industry and their contribution to improving tourism facilities in the islands.
Zafiro Hotels has received the award from CaixaBank for its more than three decades in the hospitality industry focused on 4 and 5-star hotels that combine natural luxury with sophisticated design. The award also recognises the Zafiro commitment to environmental sustainability through significant investments in the digitalisation and modernisation of its facilities.
The Regional Director of CaixaBank for the Balearic Islands, María Cruz Rivera, explained that this special edition of the CaixaBank Hotels & Tourism Awards aims to “pay tribute to the evolution of winning companies and their contribution to a key industry for the economy".
The CEO of Zafiro Hotels, Antonia Plomer, thanked CaixaBank “for acknowledging more than three decades dedicated to tourism and the economic development of the islands we love so much and to which we remain firmly committed every day”, adding that “this award comes at a key stage in the growth of Zafiro Hotels and in our commitment to ensuring increasingly efficient and sustainable tourism on our islands.”
Commitment to more sustainable tourism
The award is due to the implementation of innovative automated systems to control consumption, the introduction of biomass technology for heating pools, the use of geothermal systems, the installation of air-conditioning facilities with heat recovery systems and the implementation of CO2 indicators.
These measures are a sign of the company's firm commitment to develop more efficient hotels that help preserve the natural environment of the islands.
